Chris Brasel serves as the Director of Military & Veteran Services at UNC Charlotte. He is a graduate of UNC Charlotte with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy. Prior to attending UNC Charlotte, Chris served for five years in the United States Navy stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC and Naval Hospital Portsmouth, VA. Upon graduating from UNC Charlotte, Chris started employment within Military & Veteran Services moving from Administrative Assistant to Lead Certifying Official responsible for administering Veteran Affairs educational benefits. As Director, Chris is passionate about advocating for military-affiliated student needs, and creating a supportive and welcoming environment that facilitates academic and personal success for his students.
